Room Decor Check!

So I've been working pretty hard in my classroom lately and I think it's safe to say....I'm finished.....decorating that is. I'm still waiting on my orders to come in with my new library bins and seatsacks! :) Yay! So I've put together a little classroom tour for you!

Other than that I'm ready to get started on my orientation packet for my incoming kindergarteners. If you teach kindergarten, what do you include in your orientation packet? I include a class schedule, welcome to Standing Stone packet, class list, parent volunteer sheet, 5 things to do to get ready for school sheet, and a letter explaining morning message. Most of my colleagues aren't ready yet but I feel great knowing I only have a few things to pull together to get started this school year. I'm such a teacher nerd!

There's a great Christmas in July Sale going on now on Teacher's Pay Teachers and I have quite the wish list. I can't wait to snag some great products from Deedee Wills, Deanna Jump, and Babbling Abby!

Progress, Progress, Progress

Well I've been working away in my classroom. I have things moved in the general area I would like them to be in and got a start on my decorating! I got my word wall up compliments of Maria Manore over at Kinder-Craze. See this for her post on how she uses her word wall. She also has the letter templates in this post. I also really liked her 2013 Classroom Reveal and used some of her ideas for my classroom this year.

Just a little decorating. I'm pretty proud of my free hand kids!

Home of my future writing center and free play area.

T
This is my word wall, classroom library, and computer center. I can't wait for my classroom bins from Really Good Stuff to come in to get my books reorganized!

Just some storage and my center bins over here.

I can't wait to keep working and sharing my progress!

New Year, New Room

There have been a lot of changes since the end of the school year. On the last day of school I knew I was going to be on the interview committee to help choose a co-teacher that I would be co-teaching with next year. Well, a few Wednesdays ago I got a call saying plans had changed and I could move rooms if I wanted. If you knew my last room it was huge, lots of space, but no windows and in the dungeon of the school! I thought that was okay, but in about May I started to go crazy with no windows! So of course I had to jump on the opportunity to move. I also get a sink and water fountain, bonus! Plus I get to be in the hallway with the rest of kindergarten and first grade. The sad part is I had to leave A LOT of furniture behind. I love decorating and organizing....my classroom, not to be confused with my house (which I don't enjoy organizing and cleaning). Here are some photos of the room before I got to move my things in.

....and after they moved all of my stuff in.....

Let's just say I had a lot of work to do. I can't wait to keep working in my classroom to get it ready for my incoming kinders!
